Sleeping bags come in all different shapes and sizes. Here is our guide to the different sleeping bags available. If you have any further questions, please contact us on 0871 271 1187 and our sales team will be happy to help.
Mummy Shaped sleeping bags: These bags are wider at the top, tapering off to a narrow foot area. Advantages of the mummy style bag are that it retains warmth better than traditional shaped sleeping bags, and also that it has a lightweight feel, making transportation much easier. Mummy sleeping bags also feature a hood to ensure the occupant is as enclosed as possible, therefore, remaining warm in even the coldest conditions.
Traditional square sleeping bags allow more freedom to move around than the mummy- shaped bags and can often be fully unzipped to act as a blanket. Another convenient feature of the traditional bag is that they can be zipped together to form a double for couples’ camping trips or simply people who like that touch more sleeping space.
Every sleeping bag will have a season rating, enabling you to easily choose which bag is appropriate for your trip. Ranging from one season for indoor and warm summer climate use to, four/five season bags which are suitable for extreme, cold climates.
Here at BreakOutdoors we have organised the sleeping bags into different sections, making it easy to search via season, shape and/or brand.
